These are the value-add services which Seraya Energy provides to its customers to help them reduce their energy consumption, and this has contributed to the high customer satisfaction levels.”

Education on Managing Energy Consumption
To help customers save on their energy consumption, Seraya Energy has made it easy for them to understand their electricity bills. Our customer portal, SEnergy, provides them with 24/7 online access to their bills and consumption reports. Customers can retrieve a summary of their bills for the past six months or extract energy consumption over customised periods for a more comprehensive assessment as a guide for future use. This way, they are empowered with the knowledge to better manage their energy consumption and take steps to save energy.

Energy saving tips
Seraya Energy also provides practical energy-saving tips on their website to educate customers on simple things they can do, as well as green procurement practices they can adopt to minimise energy consumption. In February 2007, Seraya Energy launched the Little Blue Book which shows customers and the general public energy savings measures they can use, as part of the company’s efforts to educate the community on energy conservation. During the book launch, customers were also invited to energy saving seminars which ran over four days with an average of 15 participants attending each seminar session. The energy saving seminar gave participants an overview of the energy market and how they could benefit from having a contract with an energy retailer to hedge against the electricity price volatility.

Energy efficiency training
Seraya Energy teamed up with United Premas to offer a complimentary Energy Efficiency Training Course, held on 15 May 2008 for 26 facility managers and engineers. The course covered efficiency issues in air conditioning, air handling and heat recovery systems design, and also energy benchmarking and audits. At the end of the session, participants were given energy self assessment forms for their own premises which they could use and then return for complimentary review.

Plant visits for Singapore Manufacturers Association
As a partner of Singapore Manufacturers Association (SMA), Seraya Energy not only offers preferential electricity packages to SMA members, but also organises plant tours for them. In FY06/07 to FY07/08, three plant visits were organised in which SMA members (who may also be customers) gained an insight into electricity generation and the multi-fuel options PowerSeraya has in its plants.
