First Energy-focused Learning Hub for West 6 Cluster launched

The PowerSeraya-sponsored Energy Learning Hub in Greenridge Secondary School was officially launched on 14 August 2009.

The Energy Learning Hub, which traces the relationship between energy, the environment and climate change, is the first energy-focused learning centre to reach out to eleven schools in the West 6 Cluster in Singapore and has a potential outreach of 11,000 students, 770 education staff and the Zhenghua community at large. It consists of interactive, multi-media features that provide an interesting platform to engage students in creative learning.

Constructed over a period of three months, the Hub was a $170,000 investment made by PowerSeraya. It forms part of the company’s long-term partnership with Greenridge Secondary School since 2005 to promote environmental awareness and energy conservation to students and residents of the Zhenghua community, where Greenridge is located.

The Hub was officiated by Dr Teo Ho Pin, Mayor of North West District, together with Mrs Chia Ban Tin, Superintendent of the West 6 Cluster, the school’s principal Mdm Sen Mee and PowerSeraya’s CEO Mr John Ng.
